Housing Needs Assessment 2013
WSW Consulting was Research Manager, in team with Rees Consulting, Inc., and RRC Associates, LLC. This study covered Summit County and its four primary community regions, delineated by town centers – Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne – and geographical distinctions. The study included a County-wide survey of residents and the workforce and interviews with staff, elected officials, community stakeholders, housing organizations, employers and realtors and property managers in each county region. The housing needs of residents and the workforce within each region were identified to achieve better balance between jobs and housing for the workforce throughout the county.
We are excited that our work over the years has helped the region and, particularly, the town of Breckenridge, establish such a strong and vibrant affordable workforce housing program. This most recent study is being used by the Town of Breckenridge to help commit near $40 million to developing affordable housing over the next several years and by the County to support and guide development of affordable housing on county-owned land.
